Together for Health: PHO Launches $3 Million Campaign for Israeli Medical Excellence
Jerusalem, July 31, 2024 – Following a vibrant week-long celebration of International Cake Day, the Planetary Health Organization (PHO) announces the launch of the "Together for Health" campaign. This global initiative aims to support the Hadassah Medical Organization and Magen David Adom (MDA) in Israel, harnessing the holiday's spirit of friendship and solidarity to make a significant impact on Israeli healthcare.
Running from 2024 to 2026, the "Together for Health" campaign seeks to raise $3 million. The funds will be allocated to enhancing emergency care services at Hadassah Medical Center, including upgrading technical medical and sanitary equipment and implementing essential facility improvements. These enhancements will boost staff capabilities, improve patient outcomes, and help Hadassah maintain its status as a leader in medical care. Additionally, the campaign will support MDA projects, such as acquiring stair-climbing evacuation chairs and upgrading ambulance equipment.
Magen David Adom is Israel's national emergency medical service, providing critical first aid, disaster response, ambulance services, and blood donations. Established in 1934, Hadassah Medical Organization operates two university hospitals in Jerusalem, affiliated with the Hebrew University. Renowned for its medical expertise and humanitarian service, Hadassah continues to be a cornerstone of healthcare in the region.
The primary goals of the campaign are to raise awareness of the urgent needs at Hadassah and MDA, mobilize international support and donations, and foster a sense of global community and solidarity.
International Cake Day, celebrated on July 20, is a global holiday that promotes peace and friendship through the universal joy of cake-making. This year's theme, "Without a Cat, Life is Not the Same," celebrates our cherished feline companions. As a special token of appreciation, donors to the campaign will receive limited edition art prints, featuring unique cat and cake-themed artworks, individually numbered and signed by the artists.
PHO invites everyone to join the "Together for Health" campaign in support of Hadassah and MDA. You can contribute by donating, spreading the word on social media, covering the campaign and events if you're a journalist or influencer, or joining our volunteer network to brainstorm and implement new fundraising ideas. Your involvement in any capacity will help us make a significant impact on healthcare services and support the well-being of medical staff. Together, we can make a difference!
